About me:
I believe a good bike is more than just a bicycle.
It’s a companion, a sense of freedom – and sometimes even a huge boost of confidence.
I’m Sebastian. Mechanic, athlete, dad – and someone who never stands still.
Bikes have always been part of my life. Whether in a 24-hour race or at the workbench – I like to stay close to them. I like things honest, functional, and well thought out.
No glossy sales talk. Just: a bike that fits – you, your everyday life, and your budget.
But I didn’t originally come from the bike business. I spent years working in industry – in plastics engineering, both in Austria and the US, optimizing processes and supporting customers.
Eventually, I wanted out. I became a kitesurfing instructor, taught ski lessons, converted camper vans.
At some point, I started working in a bike shop. Then I began building bikes – first for friends, then for friends of friends, and now for customers who are tired of standard solutions.
VELOBIR CUSTOMS is my attempt to rethink the bike business.
Away from showrooms, toward real conversations.
No sales pitches – just honest advice.
No factory bikes – but solutions that make sense for you.
Using new and used components, fairly calculated, and tailored to your needs.
And this is just the beginning.
Over time, I want this to grow into something more:
• A community that supports each other.
• A workshop that people can share.
• A space where tech, sport, and humanity come together.
In Gallizien, in Carinthia – where stunning cycling routes meet space for great ideas.
If you’ve read this far: thank you. Maybe we’ll build something together soon.
My vision:
I want to rethink the traditional bike shop.
Away from sales pressure, polished showrooms, and outdated standards.
Toward honest advice, custom solutions, and a community that supports one another.
A place where even people without technical knowledge or big budgets can get a truly good road bike.
I want to create a space for learning, geeking out, and doing things yourself.
Not just for pros – but for anyone who loves riding, exploring, fixing, or building their own bike.
For everyone who lives and breathes cycling.
1. High-quality road cycling should be affordable for everyone.
2. Custom setups for all – instead of mass-market bikes.
3. Share knowledge – don’t just sell it.
4. Be open to DIY, used parts, real & meaningful conversations.
